Today I am going to talk about what I read in class yesterday. The class, the teacher, and I read this story together to prepare for the Compass test. The article was called Of Brainiacs and Billionaires. It was a very professional piece of writing and some of the words in it were extremely difficult to understand. For example: adolescence and cognitive. But it also somewhat helped me more in understanding what they were and what their definition was.
The article started out with a line from a song by Bruno Mars. Saying he wants to be a billionaire but doesn’t everyone. Then it talks about how the nation is too obsessed with being rich and famous to get by someone elses social status. It talks about how it is ok to be not as good in math as someone else. But we do need to be better than ok in math, science, engineering, and and technology if you want to be a billionaire so bad.
It also talks about IQ and where you are if your IQ is higher or lower than average. For instance above 100 is scintillating than average. People who score between a 125 and 137 on an IQ test is in the top 5% of the ample IQ. There is also people who has scored over 200. A professor at UCLA at age 8 he scored a 760 on a SAT. 18 year old kids don’t even score that high.
To make sure that a little of the billionaires are the brains, two people from the Johns Hopkins University set up an experiment. The outcome was Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were in the top 1% of the little Billionaires only 2 were in the top 1%.
