I
am going to talk about my second favorite animal in the world, my pet
snake Dorkis. He is a Pastel ball python and there are only a thousand
like him in the world. The reason why we named him Dorkis is my step dad
(Daniel)’s old teacher was a herpetologist and his last name was
Dorkis. But we also call him Cookie like Cookie Monster because he has a
Cookie Monster face in his pattern.
He
was born approximately a month and a half ago. He was about a foot and a
half when we bought him from a guy who breeds them. He is now two feet
long, but he is nowhere near what is going to get. The guy we got him
from said is is going to get about five to six feet long.
Lately
Dorkis has been acting weird for example he hissed at my mom and tried
to bite my sister. But this morning we found a snake skin in his tank
and know we know that why he was acting out like he was.
But
before we were all responsible snake owners. On the second day we had
him me and my mom decided to take him out of his tank. We started to
play with him on the recliner couch so he could have more room to roam
around. He fell right into the arm of the couch and we could not get him
out. So we called Daniel at work and he came home but by the time we
could call him back to say we got him Daniel pulled into the driveway.
It took four hours to get him out of the couch. We even put a heating
pad to fish him out, we finally found him wrapped around a cord in
couch.
So snakes get cranky when they're molting like babies when they're teething? I'm glad you found him, but how weird to find him there!
